Frequently Asked Questionsanswered by Julz, owner of Home Petz
Would my pet suit pet sitting?Almost all pets will certainly suit pet sitting. Unless there is clear aggression towards Julz at the Meet n Greet, no one is turned away and furbabies of all kinds thrive in their home environment
What kinds of pets do you provide care for?I myself have cared for: Cats, dogs, mice, rats, horses, snakes, blue tongue lizards, guinea pigs, chickens, various birds and a cow, yes I've looked after a cow.
What suburbs do you service? We provide pet sitting to residential suburbs of Ipswich, if you are not sure, have a look at the Map and list of suburbs we service.
How do I get started?Simply use the contact form on this site, text message or call Julz on 0426 988 258.
Do I have to have a Meet and Greet?A Meet and Greet is preferred but not always essential. It's a great way for you to personally meet who will be taking care of your fur baby while you are away and also show first hand how you like things done.
How do I pay? After a booking is confirmed an invoice will be emailed out, payment details will be included. Payment up front is preferred but at times can be negotiated.
Do you need to see my vaccination certificate?
No, as your furbabies are cared for in their own home it isn't a requirement for a certificate to be produced. Although on the Service Agreement you can check off if they are immunised or not in case vet treatment is required.
Are you insured?Yes. It is important to only use a fully insured pet sitter. Our Premier Pets policy through QBE Insurance (Aust) Ltd is for public liability including pets while in our care. We have not had to claim against our insurance, but it is there for both your and HomePetz peace of mind.
Do you cater for specific diets?Yes. Which can be discussed at Meet and Greet.
Do I get charged extra if my pet makes a mess or needs to be taken to the vet?No, we understand that accidents can happen. In the rare event a vet trip may occur, all steps will be taken to have permission from the emergency contact or owners themselves first.
Can I specify what time my visits are?In quiet periods, certainly. In busy periods we have to make the most of the day, but will do our best to keep the times consistent for furbabies.
Do you use independent contractors?
No contractors are used.
How long are visits? We offer, 25 minute and 40 minute visits but can be negotiated.
How much does it cost?It all depends on the number of pets and how long you would like someone with them.
Does dog walking cost extra? No, dog walking is part of the service
Are there any surcharges?No surcharges
Do I have to have photos taken of my pets?If you do not want photos taken of your furbabies, then just let us know at Meet and Greet or before pet sitting commencement.
Do you provide overnight pet sitting? Not at this time, no.
Do you provide minding in your home? No, I have my Shepherd, Sara and three cats that would not take too kindly to another baby in the house.
What if my pet is injured or gets sick? This is an extremely rare event, but if it does happen, I will contact the emergency person, or owner if I feel the pet needs vet treatment.
Do children go on pet sits?Absolutely not, if I do bring an extra person with me, the client will be asked permission before I do.
