It's the second day of a heat wave in Ipswich, QLD.  We've had the air-conditioning unit running all day and night.  The mercury soared to over 40 degrees yesterday.  The heat can be dangerous for pets, including pets that usually like heat, such as reptiles.

We know a local reptile breeder that lost several snakes and rats in his breeding stock.  He'd put the fan on and left the window open, thinking it would be enough.  He didn't put the air-conditioning on.  He arrived home to several dead animals and his heat distressed cat didn't appreciate a cool bath.
